Shark Fishing

I love to catch sharks, there is nothing like catching 6’ to 8’ and even bigger sharks in shallow water on fairly light tackle. I do day or night trips, and we often keep a shark or 2 as they are fantastic to eat.  Sight fishing is common but a bit lower success than when we set up a chum line.

There are many types in the Gulf and we try to match tackle to the size of the fish.  Small Bull sharks are awesome on light spinning rods and 10lb main line and we have released as many as 47 in one hour!  Bent butt rods allow less physically fit or older fisherman a chance at big fish, or I have 16 or 25 sized reels for stand-up fishing.  I really try to offer fishing in a manner that you as my client want.

There is no bow, gig, or spear fishing for sharks in Florida, I post this as it is commonly asked.
